To what extent should children have to follow rules?

пример эссе о воспитании детейIn some countries children have very strict rules of behavior, in other countries they are allowed to do almost anything they like. To what extent should children have to follow rules?

As we live in a society, each member of it have to follow the set of regulations which were issued in order to adjusting people's life and avoid some problems of social cooperation. The popular belief is that children must know and respect those rules for successful integration into society. The argument is, how strict those rules following should be for young children.

Some people say that the children's life should be restricted by regulations issued by school and family. The principal reason behind this approach based on the idea that young people could not decide what is appropriate for other people. This is because children usually do not have a rich life experience and, correspondingly, cannot recognize good or bad consequences of their behavior by themselves. As a result they could be involved into some socially inappropriate kinds of activity, such as alcohol and drug consumption, let alone committing a crime. From this perspective, the strict control seems to be excellent idea that may save children’s health and life itself.

On the other point of view, encouraging children to follow the strict life pattern of behavior, repressing their natural curiosity we can convert them to sort of robots who completely rely on our decisions and point of view. Such individuals, as a result, will experience huge problems in future life because of lack of ability and responsibility to make own decisions in particular situation. Indeed, those shy grown up people will hardly become successful employees, not to mention the running of their own business. In this case such individuals become a problem for company they work for, for the family and for society they live in, because they need a permanent assistance and strict control all life long. From this point of view, the total control seems to be too radical issue and can lead to even more significant problems than it solves.

In conclusion, in my opinion, the both edges: total control and total freedom for children do not seem like the excellent ways out. As for me, young people should be provided with some amount of freedom which allow them to grow up in responsible persons with ability of making decisions. It can also be said that they should be familiar with rules of living in a society and respect them.
